LES BÂTARDS DU ROI – Les Chemins de l’Exil

Formed in Orleans in 2022, Les Bâtards du Roi is a melodic black metal band evolving in a medieval framework. Set in a devastated world, this project tells the story of the brothers who committed regicide, the act that plunged the kingdom into decay and torment. From this initial situation, the protagonists embark on a spiritual journey of self-examination in a tortured landscape. This is the story of the beginning of their exile.

To wander. To search. To flee. To get lost. And to be reborn.

With this new album, Les Bâtards du Roi deliver a work as ambitious as it is heart-wrenching, woven with contrasts and tension. Between raw violence and symphonic flights, this record is an exile: a journey through darkness, solitude, and the outer limits of the soul.

Driven by evocative titles such as “La Forêt”, “L’Âme sans repos”, “Le Val dormant”, and the striking chapter “Ord vil merdos”, the album unfolds a sonic fresco of rare richness. Melodic black metal becomes a language of wandering, opening itself to a wide range of influences: atmospheric passages, dark orchestrations, haunting melodic bursts, and searing fury.
